Housing Stability Assistance

At Fort Worth Connect, we understand that stable housing is the foundation for a healthy, secure, and thriving life. Without a safe place to call home, families struggle to meet their basic needs, maintain employment, and pursue personal growth. That’s why our Housing Stability Assistance service is dedicated to helping families achieve long-term housing security through a collaborative and holistic approach.

Our program uses a collective impact model, meaning we partner with local organizations, housing authorities, community leaders, and social services to address the multiple factors that contribute to housing instability. We believe that housing challenges are rarely isolated and often intertwined with financial insecurity, employment barriers, and health issues. By working with a network of community stakeholders, we develop comprehensive solutions tailored to each family’s unique circumstances, ensuring they have the support needed to maintain stable housing for the long term.

We offer assistance in several key areas:

  1. Housing Placement: We help families find suitable, safe, and affordable housing options that meet their needs. This may involve working with local housing authorities, landlords, and affordable housing programs to secure a place where families can build a stable future. We provide guidance throughout the application process, helping participants navigate paperwork, eligibility requirements, and any barriers they may face in securing housing.

  2. Financial Planning and Budgeting: A key element of maintaining housing stability is financial management. We offer families education on budgeting, saving, and financial planning to help them manage rent, utilities, and other household expenses. By teaching these crucial life skills, we empower families to stay on top of their financial responsibilities and reduce the risk of eviction or homelessness.

  3. Access to Rental Assistance and Subsidies: For families facing financial hardship, we connect them with programs that offer rental assistance, housing subsidies, or emergency relief funds. By collaborating with local housing authorities and nonprofit partners, we ensure that families who qualify for these programs receive the support they need to stay in their homes.

  4. Employment and Income Support: Stable housing is closely tied to stable income. Through our partnerships, we provide families with access to job training, employment opportunities, and income support services. This holistic approach ensures that families not only secure housing but also have the economic stability to sustain it.

  5. Supportive Services: Many families facing housing instability also deal with additional challenges such as mental health issues, domestic violence, or substance abuse. We partner with local health and social service organizations to connect families with the resources they need to overcome these barriers. From counseling and therapy to healthcare access and legal assistance, we ensure that families receive comprehensive support that addresses all aspects of their well-being.

  6. Ongoing Support and Follow-Up: Housing stability doesn’t end once a family has secured a home. We continue to follow up with families to ensure they are maintaining their housing and accessing the resources they need to stay secure. Whether it’s providing referrals for additional services, offering financial check-ins, or helping families address new challenges that arise, our goal is to provide long-term support.

Our Housing Stability Assistance service is designed not only to help families find housing but also to equip them with the skills, resources, and support systems necessary to maintain that housing over time. By focusing on long-term stability, we aim to break the cycle of housing insecurity, ensuring families have a safe, stable foundation on which to build their future.
