Akachi Adventurers

Akachi Adventurers is a three-pronged approach utilizing Sport Fishing, Kayaking and Water Safety to introduce and develop skills in a variety of outdoor activities while utilizing state parks and recreational facilities. Students from communities characterized by poverty and under-served minority populations participate in training and application of acquired skills through trips focused on their application. The communities, which have a history of conflict, are merged into settings and programming that maximize bonding and conflict resolution through cooperative endeavors and common interests.

Akachi Ranch serves as the hub for training and practice to prepare students for real-world experiences and service opportunities. Various non-profits provide additional resources through preparatory activities including water safety and licensing to specific standards. Supportive collaborations include the 4H for Sportfishing, Community Healing and Mental Health Project (C.H.A.M.P.) N2C Youth & Community Services, and Creating Super Heroes.
