Fort Worth Connect provides assistance to families in targeted Tarrant County zip codes who are at risk of experiencing gun violence or participating in gun violence as a means to meet their basic needs. These families are able to qualify for up to $1,000 in financial assistance for the following categories: rent/deposit, water, electric, or gas bills. These families qualify for assistance based on the following criteria:

1. There must be children in the home between the ages of 0 – 17 years old.

2. There must be a need for assistance:

• Loss of employment

• Bills are past due

• Family received an eviction notice

• Fixed/Single income household

• Relocating due to family violence

• Loss of an immediate family member within the household due to gun violence in the past 90 days

• Recently became a caregiver of a non-biological child due to gun violence

Our goal is to help families create a stable housing environment for children to feel safe and supported through a collective impact approach. With this in mind, Fort Worth Connect knows this is a limited amount of funding and will support only a few families.
